The second phase of the Streetscape Planning efforts in Toluca Lake will begin with this public kick-off meeting. The Landscape Architects will be presenting the process and start the planning charrette to discuss the possibilities on how to improve our community public right of way along Riverside Drive and Lankershim Boulevard.

Councilmember Tom LaBonge invites all of his constituents to join the Los Angeles Consular Corps and the Sister Cities of Los Angeles in the 16th Annual Summer Solstice Hike on Friday, June 21, 2013. All are invited to bring food to take part in a potluck with an international flair. Please meet at the north end of the Griffith Observatory parking lot near the Charlie Turner Trailhead at 6 p.m. for the gentle 1.5 mile walk up to the summit of Mount Hollywood.
Arrangements will be made for those who need special transportation, with shuttles that run every 20 minutes till 7 p.m. Enjoy a beautiful sunset, an international potluck, and refreshments from around the world!

NBC Universal’s $1.6B Evolution Plan
Approved by L.A. City Council

City Council, followed on February 27 by approval recommendation by LA County Regional Planning Commission to the County Board of Supervisors whose final approval is pending. If you are a Toluca Lake homeowner who is disturbed by noise from Universal Studios, please get involved and help us. Your TLHOA is actively engaged with Universal through their Community Outreach Team (Cindy Gardner, Mark Lyum, Darnell Tyler, Tracy Cohen) to affect changes that reduce nuisance sound from Universal.
You can do your part by supporting your TLHOA and by calling or emailing Universal to report sound problems:
Last night at the TLHOA Annual meeting, CD4 Councilmember Tom LaBonge announced that he had entered a Motion at the City Council on Wednesday, seconded by Paul Krekorian, to amend the General Plan “to downgrade a segment of Forman Avenue from Camarillo Boulevard to Valley Spring Lane from its current street classification of Secondary Highway to a local street, to preserve the character of the residential neighborhood.” The Planning Department of the City in coordination with DOT and BOE is asked to report within 60 days on its review of the feasibility of the re-designation and downgrading.
