In an effort to become an accredited law enforcement agency, the Burbank Police Department is scheduled for an on-site assessment. Achieving Advanced Law Enforcement Accreditation requires voluntary compliance with over 480 law enforcement standards established by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA ®) based on best practices.
As part of the on-site assessment, Department employees and members of the community are invited to offer comments at a Public Information Session scheduled for Monday, August 4, 2014, at 6:00 p.m., at the Burbank City Council Chambers.
Department employees and members of the community may also offer comments by calling (818) 238-3025 on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Comments will be taken by members of the Assessment Team.
Telephone comments as well as appearances at the public information session will be limited to 10 minutes and all comments must address the Police Department’s ability to comply with CALEA standards. Copies of the standards will be available at the Police Department front counter and electronically via a link on the Department’s website.
Anyone wishing to submit written comments about the Department’s ability to comply with the standards for accreditation may send them to:
